How buddy works
The buddy system links relationships to skill development. When two Parafolk practice the same skill together, they form a buddy bond for that activity. 8 buddy types cover the game’s main skill categories. Higher buddy levels increase XP gains when practicing together, making social skill-building more efficient than solo practice.

Higher buddy levels increase the XP bonus when practicing that skill together. A level 50 Cooking Buddy gives a significant XP multiplier compared to cooking alone. This makes finding practice partners one of the best strategies for fast skill leveling.
