Survival
Three stats keep you alive: health, hunger and thirst. Eat, drink and avoid falls to stay in the game.
- 3
- Survival stats
- 100
- HP health
- 40 min
- Full hunger bar
Vital
Health
Your hit points, 100 at maximum. Health drops from falls, environmental damage, or running out of food or water. When health hits zero, you die and respawn at your bed or the starting point, dropping a death loot bag.
- Damaged by falls, environmental hazards and starvation
- Regenerates 10 health every 10 seconds while hunger and thirst are both above 50%
- Loses 5 health every 10 seconds for each stat that sits at zero
- A red vignette appears on screen when you take damage
- Death drops a retrievable loot bag at your location
Vital
Hunger
Drains at a steady rate over time. A full hunger bar lasts about 40 minutes. When hunger reaches zero, health starts dropping.
- Decays 25 points (of 1000) every 60 seconds
- Cozy Mode halves the drain rate
- Eat food to restore hunger - cooked meals restore more and some grant a buff that slows the drain
- Below 25%: a weakened state indicator appears
- At zero: health begins to drain
Vital
Thirst
Drains at the same rate as hunger. Water from rivers and wells must be boiled before drinking - only rain collectors give drinkable water directly.
- Decays 25 points (of 1000) every 60 seconds, same as hunger
- Fill an empty carafe at a river or well - this water is unboiled
- Boil unboiled water in the Furnace (30 seconds) to make it drinkable
- Stone rain collectors provide clean drinkable water directly
- At zero: health begins to drain
Guide
Staying Alive
Cooked meals restore more hunger than raw crops. Keep food in your hotbar.
Craft a Carafe early (5 Glass). Boil river and well water in the furnace, or take clean water from a rain collector.
You can only sleep at night. Sleeping skips straight to morning - it does not restore stats.
Frequently asked
How does hunger work in Solarpunk?
Hunger drains at a steady rate - 25 points of 1000 every 60 seconds, so a full bar lasts about 40 minutes. Eat food to restore it; cooked meals restore more than raw crops and some grant a buff that slows the drain. At zero hunger, your health starts dropping. How do I get clean water?
Craft a Carafe from 5 Glass at the Crafting Table, then fill it at a river or well. That water is unboiled - boil it in the Furnace (30 seconds) to make it drinkable. Stone rain collectors give drinkable water directly, and juice and certain cooked foods also restore thirst. What happens when I die in Solarpunk?
When health reaches zero, you respawn at your bed or the starting point. A death loot bag drops where you died containing your inventory - return to collect it.
