The fastest crop at 7 minutes, grown for fiber, not food. 1 Cotton spins into 1 Cloth, and beds and torches take it directly. Temperate lakes fish it up at about 10%.

Diamond

Mined from Diamond Ore at 2 guaranteed per rock. 4 Diamonds craft each top-tier tool - Axe, Pickaxe or Hoe - and the Recycler values one at 10, ten times a common resource. Rare chests hold exactly 1.

Used for baking bread in the furnace.

Iron

Smelted from 1 Iron Ore. The most demanded metal in the data - over 60 recipes use it, from metal tools at 2-3 each to the Skyturbine at 20. Rare chests hold a guaranteed 32.

Iron Ore

Drops 2 guaranteed from every Iron Ore rock, plus 2 more at 50%, and smelts 1:1 into Iron in the Furnace. Winter island lakes even fish it up at 2.6%.

Leaf

Drops from every tree at every growth stage and fills 38-50% of every fishing table - the top catch on temperate lakes, while winter lakes pull Algae more often (51.3%). About 40 plant and succulent decoration recipes use it, and 2 even make the Survival Guide. Burns for 5 seconds if nothing else is left.

Split from 1 Wood by hand into 2. Over 50 recipes take Sticks - every tool line, torches, the Fishing Rod at 5 - and the glass building set uses them as framing. Young trees drop them when chopped.

Mined 2 guaranteed per Stone rock, plus a 70% bonus drop from every other ore rock. First tools (Stone Axe, Stone Pickaxe, Hoe) and the brick building set lean on it, and the Furnace takes 15.

Wax Briquette

A briquette made of wax and cloth that is very effective for fueling furnaces.

Not eaten raw - 3 Wheat grind into Dough for Bread, and 2 feed an Animal Feed batch. Takes 15 minutes to grow. The Land's lake fishes it up at 14.3%, and hay bale decorations swallow 20-50 each. Your very first wheat plant drops 2 seeds (patch 1.0.3) to ease early planting.

Wood

Chopped from every tree: 7 Wood guaranteed from most mature trees, 9 from pines. Roughly 70 recipes and the whole timber building set draw on it, and it burns for 60 seconds - the longest of the raw materials.

Wood Waste

A leftover with no crafting recipe in the release data. Its one use is fuel: 20 seconds of burn time, a third of a Wood log. The Recycler pays nothing for it.

Restores 170 hunger raw. The crop takes 13 minutes through 4 stages and drops a seed back at harvest; 3 Carrots also convert into 3 Animal Feed. Golden Mid's lake fishes one up at 9.1%.

Cotton seed

Plants a cotton plant that matures in 7 minutes, the fastest crop in the game. Cotton starts the entire textile chain: Cotton to Cloth to beds, couches, carpets and the Skyturbine.

Flower Special

A special flower with exactly one recipe: 4 blooms craft FlowerSpecial Seeds. The release data gives it no food value and no other use.

Raspberry

Restores 120 hunger and 45 thirst raw. 4 craft Berry Seeds, and bakers want it for Berry Cake (4), muffins and Salad Bowl. Temperate lakes fish one up at about 10%.

Sunflower

Not edible - 2-3 Sunflowers go into 5 of the 6 Animal Feed recipes (only the plain 2-Wheat mix skips them) and the flowerpot decoration line takes one each. 4 craft new seeds. Lower Nice's lake fishes one up at 10%.
