Guide

How Unlocking Works

  1. Build a Research Table and interact with it: six researches are available there right away. Every research costs the items shown on its card - they are taken straight from your inventory when you research.
  2. Each 'Unlock Tier' research opens the next batch of technologies. The Research Table ladder has eight stages, labeled Tier 2 through Tier 8 - the final stage is labeled 'Tier 8' a second time in-game.
  3. Energy tech does not appear at the Research Table. Repair the Electronics Trade Station on the Tiny Start island and research the energy tree there - starting with the 'Energy Workbench' research (the seventh starter), with its own Tier 2-5 ladder.

The Progression page shows both tier ladders with every unlock cost at a glance.
