How it works
Building, Metallurgy and Farming open on waking up at home in the intro; Theology opens during the quest Holy Moly!; Anatomy and Alchemy opens on placing the first body on the autopsy table. Each technology costs red, green and blue tech points, earned by gathering, crafting, using certain items and studying new items at the Study Table, and needs every technology connected to it on its left. The Cooking tab is not researched: its 20 dish groups unlock for free.
Hand-crafting skill and working with materials.
Knowledge of nature and of the nature of things.
Spiritual knowledge of the immaterial world.
A character's portrait in the tree: it opens once the reputation with that character reaches the value shown and every technology linked before it is researched.
