Money and trading: prices, traders, orders and Likes
How bronze, silver and gold add up, how much a trader can pay, and what resets on Pride.
Mechanics
Graveyard Keeper 2 counts money in bronze, silver and gold: 100 bronze make a silver and 100 silver make a gold. A new game starts with 50 bronze. Money comes from burial certificates, selling to traders, sermons, finished town orders, the Town Warehouse payout at the start of every Pride, selling Faith to Homobonus (5 silver for 10 Faith, after Homobonus II) and, with the Treasure Hunter perk, 10 bronze for every organ taken out at the autopsy table.
Town orders can only be accepted on Pride, apart from the first visit to the order board, which opens it until the end of the next Pride. A finished order pays its Likes when it is collected at the order board. At the start of every Pride the crates of the Town Warehouse and the Warehouse Cellar are paid out, and the weekly cap on the Likes each trader gives for special goods resets.
Prices, purses and restocks
- Prices move
- For most goods, the more of an item a merchant holds, the lower its price, and a merchant pays three quarters of that price for what it buys, never more than the base price. Some goods always sell to a merchant for their full base price: Burial Certificates, Town Gratitude, fish, fishing rods, bags, zombie collars and most tools, swords, pikes and armor.
- Special goods
- Every merchant has its own goods to buy and sell, some of them special to that merchant.
- Restocks
- Merchant stocks refresh over time. At most merchants a higher tier adds goods.
- The Likes bar
- Selling items marked with the Likes label fills a progress bar at that trader; each time it reaches 100% the Keeper gains one Like. Only a limited number of each item counts toward the bar each week.
Every trader also has a purse, which starts at a fixed amount. At the end of every day the trader adds its daily income, which rises with its tier, then sells off part of any stock above its usual amount and buys back part of any shortfall, both at base price and out of the same purse. A trader cannot pay more than its purse holds.

The Town's other currency
Likes come from Town Gratitude, trading special items and completing town orders. Restored shops unlock new merchants and town orders and raise village reputation. A sermon spends Likes: the number of parishioners who come is the lower of Likes and church quality, and each parishioner costs one Like.
The most Likes each trader gives for special goods per week, by tier. It resets every Pride.

- Likes limit
- Restoring a Town house gives Green Scrolls once. Linda takes them on Lust (the first time she is asked "New people?", on any day) to attract new people, raising Town quality and with it the maximum Likes limit: first four one-time offers (1, 3, 10 and 10 people, at Linda's reputation 10, 10, 20 and 30), then, from reputation 40, "Attract 1 new person", "Attract 5 new people" or "Attract 10 new people" for 1, 5 or 10 scrolls, as often as wanted.
- Urgent orders
- An urgent order is completed only when its full amount is in the crates at the same moment; a regular order adds up what is delivered over several weeks.
- Delivering orders
- Goods for orders go into the crates of the Town Warehouse and the Warehouse Cellar and are taken for the accepted orders as they arrive. A finished order's goods are paid at their base price at the order board; everything else left in the crates is sold at its base price at the start of every Pride.
- Order rewards
- 10 to 80 Likes per order, more with the Happy supplier perk

When does a trader not buy an item?

What does a burial pay?
A Burial Certificate, worth 1 silver to 5 silver depending on the corpse. Januarius buys them.
