Graveyard Keeper 2 FAQ
Short answers with the exact days, recipes and numbers.
Mechanics
The game saves automatically after sleep. Mass is held on Wrath, town orders are accepted on Pride, most battles start only on Sloth, and resurrection needs Envy or the God of the storms buff.
Frequently asked questions
Which day is Mass?
Wrath, day 6 of the week. One sermon can be held at the Church each Wrath, and sermons pay Faith and money.
Which day are battles fought?
Most battles only start on Sloth. Break Through to the Port, Sewer Brawl I, Sewer Brawl II, Break Through to the Bathhouse Basement and Sewerena (The Sewer Arena) start on any day, and when Herbert hands over the red banner before the first battle, battles open on any day until the end of the next Sloth. Most battles are won by capturing every enemy flag and holding them until the battle ends; Market Square Purge, Operation POTATO: Part II, Final Battle and Sewerena (The Sewer Arena) have no enemy flags: holding the base until the waves end wins them.
Which day can zombies be resurrected?
On Envy: one use of the Resurrection device raises a zombie on every prepared Resurrection Table, and the lab then has no power until the very end of the next Lust. A successful Prayer for Storms grants God of the storms, which allows resurrection on any day, as often as needed, while it lasts.
Which day can town orders be accepted?
Only on Pride, apart from the first visit to the order board, which opens it until the end of the next Pride. At the start of every Pride the goods in the crates of the Town Warehouse and the Warehouse Cellar count toward the accepted orders and everything in the crates is sold at its base price. A finished order pays its Likes when it is collected at the order board.
What unlocks the graveyard expansions?
The quest Certificate, Please unlocks the first expansion, and each expansion unlocks the next. They are built at the graveyard's Blueprint Desk: Expand graveyard I (12 Piece of stone), Expand graveyard II (12 Polished Stone), Expand graveyard III (24 Polished Stone). Graveyard modules, unlocked in the tech tree, set what can be built on the new ground.
Where are the pre-order Sauna and outfit?
The Sauna is just over the bridge. The costume is in the Dresser in the Keeper's house - the Dresser with mirror is built after the Suit Up! technology.
What is the recipe for Polished Stone?
4 Piece of stone, 1 Melted Fat and 2 Sand at a Stonemason's Workbench make 4 Polished Stone (Stone Polishing). Piece of stone: 2 Stone and 4 Wood wedge at a Stonemason's Workbench make 4 Piece of stone (The Concept of Stone).
What are the recipes for bronze and iron ingots?
Bronze: 3 Bronze Scrap and 10 Fuel at a Furnace I or Furnace II make 2 Bronze Ingot (Bronze Melting); or 3 Copper Nugget, 1 Tin and 20 Fuel at a Furnace I or Furnace II make 4 Bronze Ingot (Bronze Forge). Iron: 1 Iron Ore and 1 Coal at a Smithy I or Smithy II make 1 Iron Ingot (Smithy: Hammer); or 3 Iron Ore and 30 Fuel at a Furnace II make 3 Iron Ingot (Iron Forge).
What unlocks sermons and Faith?
Holy Moly! ends with the first ceremony, which can be held on any day. From then on a sermon can be held at the Church every Wrath, and sermons pay Faith and money.
Where do zombies come from?
The Plague Doctor gives the first 2 in Sweet Dreams and Gunter 3 in Friendship Written in the Stars. The rest are raised from corpses: a corpse with all 6 vital organs on the Resurrection Table, with 1 Reanimation Liquid and a collar that allows the corpse's red skulls, on Envy or while God of the storms lasts.
What does a zombie need to work?
A mastery at or above the recipe's requirement (a tool for that mastery raises it), the station's tool in its hand where the station needs one (axe, pickaxe, hammer or shovel), and materials, brought by the zombie on a Zombie Supplier Station in the area. In the Factory, stations must also be linked by conveyor belts.
What is the zombie limit?
The Resurrection Lab's quality. It never stops a resurrection: each time a PR Machine program starts or ends, and when God of delusions ends, a zombie count above the limit gives the Excessive zombies debuff, which makes sermons pay less, and a count at or below it removes the debuff. A PR Machine load on Gluttony raises the limit for 1 to 5 weeks.
What unlocks better stations?
Better versions of a station (such as a Furnace II or a Woodworking Workbench II) and workbench extensions such as the Tool Rack are unlocked in the tech tree and then built like any other station. Some recipes need an extension on their workbench: stone headstones and fences need the Tool Rack on the Stonemason's Workbench, marble ones the Fine Tool Rack.
Can buildings be moved?
Not directly: a building is removed and placed again. Removing a finished building refunds exactly half of its materials for 42 of the 78 buildings and the full cost for 14; cancelling a construction site refunds the full cost for 77 of them.
Is there a renewable source of stone, wood and iron?
Yes, through zombies. These stations take no ingredients while a zombie works them: Zombie Stone Quarry: 1 Stone; Zombie Marble Quarry: 1 Marble; Zombie Miner: 1 Iron Ore and 2 Coal (10% chance of a Gem with the Magpie’s Eye zombie perk); Lumberjack stand: 1 Log and 2 Stick.
When does the game save?
Automatically after the Keeper sleeps, apart from the scripted sleep at the very start of the game.
What restores energy and reduces insanity?
Food and drinks restore energy, and so does sleeping. Insanity drops by 20 when a sleep ends Lack of sleep, and with drinks such as Wine and ciders. Maximum energy is 100 minus insanity.
How many fast-travel milestones are there?
11. Each milestone is activated once, at the milestone itself, and travel works between any two activated milestones.
What is the difference between red and white skulls?
In a grave, the headstone's and fence's wreaths score, red skulls cancel wreaths and white skulls cap the score. In a zombie, each red skull opens a perk slot.
Where do Likes come from?
Town Gratitude, trading special items and completing town orders. Restoring a Town house gives Green Scrolls once; Linda takes them to attract new people (on Lust, apart from the first time she is asked "New people?"), raising Town quality and with it the maximum Likes limit.
What is graveyard quality for?
It pays out at Mass: a successful sermon adds 5 to 30 bronze (6 to 36 with the Performer perk) for every point of graveyard quality, depending on the prayer. Headstones and fences on the graves, decorations and a cleared graveyard raise it.
