CreatureVariant

The X-Otter is a small piscivore variant from Genesis: Part 1, modified with -3% Health and +5% Melee Damage. It is passively tamed and can be carried by larger creatures for transport. This dino is primarily used for its lightweight utility and ease of taming in snow biomes.
It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Desmodus, Griffin, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Tropeognathus, Kaprosuchus, Procoptodon, Pteranodon, Quetzal, Tapejara, or Tusoteuthis for fast deployment across snowy regions.

Kill a fish and drag the corpse up to the Otter, then press the use key while you are still holding it. It takes three species, and Sabertooth Salmon is worth about three and a half times a Piranha, so it is worth the swim. Size scales the value directly, so a bigger corpse counts for proportionally more, while the Otter's own level does not change what one fish gives: a higher level simply needs more of them.
The X-Otter is tamed passively, requiring no knockout or immobilization. Feed it Raw Mutton for the fastest taming, which grants the highest affinity. Cooked Lamb Chop also works, though it provides less affinity per use.
Taming takes about 9 minutes with 5 units of Raw Mutton at level 150 on Official settings. No narcotics are needed. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Each harvest event rolls resources independently. Actual yields vary.
Killing an X-Otter yields Hide, Raw Meat, and Pelt. The Hatchet provides the best yield for Hide and Pelt, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat harvest.

The X-Otter has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos damage, making it highly vulnerable to instant-damage effects. It also takes +55% more damage from Melee DmgMetal RaidDino sources and +50% from Explosions. Conversely, it is highly resistant to Mining Drill Harvest and Ranged Turret damage, both reduced by 100% and 50% respectively.
The X-Otter has a head hitbox multiplier, with the Head taking 1.5× damage. Targeting the head is effective for faster knockouts or kills when using ranged weapons or precise melee strikes.
Can damage Thatch structures. Build at least in Wood to resist its attacks.
