Overview
The Otter is a small Piscivore primarily used as a Shoulder Pet. It can be carried by larger creatures for fast deployment and aerial transport. This makes it ideal for companionship and utility during travel or combat scenarios where weight reduction is beneficial.
It can be airlifted by Argentavis or Karkinos for fast deployment.

More about taming the Otter
Kill a fish and drag the corpse up to the Otter, then press the use key while you are still holding it. It takes three species, and Sabertooth Salmon is worth about three and a half times a Piranha, so it is worth the swim. Size scales the value directly, so a bigger corpse counts for proportionally more, while the Otter's own level does not change what one fish gives: a higher level simply needs more of them.
Taming an Otter uses the passive method. Feed it Sabertooth Salmon for the fastest results. Coelacanth also works if Sabertooth Salmon is unavailable.

Otters take +120% more damage from Instant HurtDinos, making them highly vulnerable to instant-damage effects. They are highly resistant to MiningDrill Harvest attacks, taking -100% damage. Melee attacks from metal weapons deal +55% damage, making them effective against this creature.
The head has a damage multiplier of 1.5x, making headshots effective for faster knockout. All other body zones have standard damage multipliers.

- The Otter takes +120% more damage from instant-damage sources. Use caution around spike walls and similar traps.
