Outbound Fish
Every collectible fish, its rarity, and where to catch it.
Fishing arrived in Patch 1.1. There are 32 collectible fish spread across all four biomes, each caught with one of three fishing rods. This guide lists every fish, its rarity, and exactly which lakes, rivers, ponds, and seas you can catch it in, plus the 4 junk items and all 20 fishing pools.
Fishing Rods
3 rods, each required to fish in different areas. Each is crafted and unlocked at a Download terminal.
Fishing Rod 1
Tier 1 — A basic fishing rod for some fishing adventures.
Fishing Rod 2
Tier 2 — An advanced fishing rod to catch bigger fish.
Fishing Rod 3
Tier 3 — One of the sturdiest fishing rods around.

Junk
Instead of a fish you sometimes reel in junk. It does not count toward the 32 collectible fish and cannot be displayed in a Fish Tank, but each piece gives a small amount of a resource.

Fishing Pools
Each body of water draws from a pool that determines which fish can be caught there. There are 20 pools across the four biomes.

Fishing in Outbound
How many fish are there in Outbound?
There are 32 collectible fish across the four biomes, plus 4 junk items you can reel in by mistake. Fishing was added in the Patch 1.1 content update.
How do you fish in Outbound?
You need a fishing rod. There are three rods, obtained from Download terminals or crafted, and each is required to fish in different areas. You can then fish in any lake, river, or sea.
Can you eat fish in Outbound?
No. Fish are not a source of nutrition. They are collectible and decorative. You can display caught fish in Fish Tanks placed in your home, and the highest star rating you catch for each fish is logged in your journal.
