Winter Drakeling

Overview

The Winter Drakeling is a shoulder-mounted flyer that serves as a companion pet. It is tamed through a special passive method involving a lit torch and performing in-game activities. Once tamed, it provides a unique utility presence for survivors seeking a mobile, low-impact companion.

It can be carried by flyers such as the Quetzal or Phoenix for aerial transport.

More about taming the Winter Drakeling

Feeding requires the current experience requirement to be met. Each successful feed changes the required experience type and resets experience progress. During waking taming, progress decreases after inactivity while the Drakeling is unmounted.

Taming a Winter Drakeling uses the Special Passive method. Light a torch and hold it out; the Drakeling will land on your shoulder. While perched, perform actions like crafting, harvesting, or killing creatures to fill the taming bar.

No narcotics or knockout tools are required. The process takes approximately 10 minutes. Use the calculator below for your settings.

  • Perform active gameplay tasks like crafting or harvesting to accelerate the taming progress.
  • It takes significantly more damage from explosive and metal-based melee attacks, so avoid combat against raiding creatures.
  • The taming process does not require narcotics or torpor management.
