During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
More about breeding the R-Thylacoleo
The R-Thylacoleo gives live birth after mating, skipping the egg-incubation step entirely. Gestation takes approximately 4 hours and 12 minutes at default rates.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~2 days (1x rate), progressing slowly. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.
Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The R-Thylacoleo's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~292 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~24h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted R-Thylacoleo gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.
The raising calculator above shows exactly how much food you need for each maturation phase of the R-Thylacoleo. Budget ~292 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Raising multiple R-Thylacoleo simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Different food types have different spoil timers - factor that into which food you stockpile.
The R-Thylacoleo, a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. It belongs to the Variant category.
At 679 base HP, the R-Thylacoleo is solidly tanky. With 105% base Melee Damage, the R-Thylacoleo has respectable melee power. Stamina sits at 400 base, providing solid stamina reserves. It carries 400 base Weight - good carrying capacity.
Taming the R-Thylacoleo requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Feed it Extraordinary Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the R-Thylacoleo is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Defeating one in the wild grants 5 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.5 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
