The Elderclaw is a medium-sized omnivore support creature. It features a unique passive taming process involving planting a seed and nurturing it to maturity. Once tamed, it excels at gathering a wide variety of plant-based resources efficiently. It can be airlifted by Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment to remote biomes.
This creature is primarily used for automated farming and resource collection in challenging environments.

To tame an Elderclaw, kill a wild adult to obtain an Elderclaw Seed from its inventory. Plant the seed in a Large Crop Plot with at least 300% greenhouse effect, irrigation, and fertilizer. As the seedling grows it will periodically request one of six resources: Sap, Giant Bee Honey, Black Pearls, Biotoxin, Ammonite Bile, or Leech Blood. You have 5 minutes to provide each resource or taming effectiveness drops. Once the seedling matures into a baby Elderclaw, raise and imprint it like any other baby creature.
Elderclaw is tamed using a special passive method. Kill a wild adult to obtain an Elderclaw Seed, then plant it in a Large Crop Plot with at least 300% greenhouse effect, irrigation, and fertilizer. Killing an Elderclaw yields Wood, Thatch, Fiber, Rare Flower, and Rare Mushroom. The Hatchet yields the most Wood, while the Pick maximizes Thatch, Fiber, Rare Flower, and Rare Mushroom.
While ridden, Elderclaw gathers a broad range of plant resources with all its attacks. It harvests Fiber, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, Citronal, Longrass, Mejoberry, Mejoberry Seed, Narcoberry, Narcoberry Seed, Organic Polymer, Plant Species X Seed, Plant Species Y Seed, and Rockarrot at 10× efficiency. Its Lunge (Empowered) attack deals 80 damage and maintains full gather efficiency.

Elderclaw has a strong vulnerability to Instant HurtDinos, taking +120% more damage. It is also weak to Spike Walls (+100%) and Melee DmgMetal RaidDino (+55%). Explosions and melee attacks with impact effects deal increased damage. It is highly resistant to Mining Drill Harvest, taking -100% damage, and resists Ranged Turret Small DefensePlant and certain melee-projectile combos by -50%.
The Elderclaw has a head hitbox multiplier. Targeting the head deals 1.5× damage, making it effective for faster knockouts or combat.

The Elderclaw Seed must be planted in a Large Crop Plot with 300% greenhouse effect, irrigation, and fertilizer to grow.
