How this tame works

To tame a Dreadmare, kill a wild one to obtain its altar. Place the altar and offer tributes (body parts like Sarcosuchus Skin, Spinosaurus Sail, Giganotosaurus Heart) during nighttime. A Dreadmare spawns that you must defeat. Repeat the tribute-fight cycle until the taming bar fills, then interact with the altar to claim your tamed Dreadmare.

More about taming the Dreadmare

Found throughout the ARKs, the Dreadmare is a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Flyer classification.

Its base Stamina of 600 gives it massive stamina reserves. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Dreadmare has decent hitting power. Starting at 1,000 Health, it's impressively tough. It carries 450 base Weight - generous inventory space.

Once tamed, the Dreadmare excels at carrying heavy loads through the air, making base-to-base logistics much faster. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Killing a wild Dreadmare yields 12 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.94 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
