Baby: The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
More about breeding the Chalicotherium
Breeding produces live offspring - no egg management needed. Gestation takes approximately 8 hours at default rates.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~3 days and 10 hours (1x rate), progressing over many real-world days, demanding serious time investment. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Raising a baby Chalicotherium involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~494 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~33h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~41h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Don't skip imprinting - each successful imprint boosts the Chalicotherium's stats, and hitting 100% grants a 30% combat bonus when the imprinter rides it. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.
Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Chalicotherium babies through all three growth stages. Budget ~494 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Chalicotherium babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.
Found throughout the ARKs, the Chalicotherium is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Misc category.
With 100% base Melee Damage, the Chalicotherium has decent hitting power. Starting at 600 Health, it's impressively tough. With 300 base Stamina, the Chalicotherium has decent staying power. It carries 400 base Weight - good carrying capacity.
The Chalicotherium is passively tamed - approach it carefully and feed it by hand without knocking it out. Its preferred food is Beer Jar.
Once tamed, the Chalicotherium earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. A wild Chalicotherium is worth 6 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.27 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
