During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
More about breeding the Araneo
The Araneo reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between 4°C and 12°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~1 day and 1 hour (1x rate), progressing slowly. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Maturation has three phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~150 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~10h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~13h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Araneo gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.
Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Araneo babies through all three growth stages. Budget ~150 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Araneo babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

Stamina sits at 150 base, providing moderate endurance. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it respectable melee power. With 200 base Health, the Araneo is not particularly tanky. It carries 150 base Weight - average weight tolerance.
To tame the Araneo, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Feed it Superior Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the Araneo is primarily used for resource harvesting, excelling at gathering specific materials. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 4°C–12°C temperature window. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.04 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
