Defeating a Shroud infested enemy with a One- or Two-Handed Axe, Club, Hammer, Sword or Greatsword restores 3 / 6 / 9 seconds (by level) of Time in the Shroud.
Time in the Shroud Should this time run out, the Shroud will consume you.
